This is a great bike for a beginner. I would definitely recommend it. Very stylish and sturdy. I wish the tape on the handle was black and not red. Red gets dirty easily.

I purchased this bike at the end of December 2015. I have only ridden about 600 miles on the bike so far, but have been very impressed every single mile. I did upgrade many of the stock components after about 400 miles even though they are good quality (I wanted Shimano Ultegra after riding for period of time), however. This is the first road bike I have owned and I did a lot of research before I decided to purchase this bike. I really have nothing negative to add about the bike itself at this point. I purchased this from Amazon and it was about 90% assembled and took to LBS for assembly.

I absolutely love this bike. I must admit I was hesitant to purchase a bike off the internet and especially from a marketer that is not a bike shop. But the price was in my range, so I researched the company and learned they are about 2 hours from my house. Based on the fact I could show up at the manufacturer, I decided to try my luck.

The bike came partially assembled but required the headset, front derailleur cable, front brake and cable installed. I took it to Dicks Sporting goods, who only charged me for a basic tune up and was able to ride a couple hours later (although I am sure it did not take a couple hours to do the work).

The bike is light, but it is an aero bike so not as light as a climber. Yet lighter than my aluminum Massi. It is also stiff, responsive, which took a little getting used to.

My other concern buying it is that embarrassingly, I am not a strong cyclist. For climbs I had a triple ring Massi and always ended up in granny gear. The compact drivetrain and 11-28 on this bike is enough to get me up the mountains and the aero design takes me back down in no time.

I would highly recommend this bike. If you have extra money maybe try the Ultegra version but honestly the 105 works great!!

Incredibly fast bike. Much faster than a lot of road bikes. Upgraded the saddle to a TT saddle for a weight decrease and to further the aerodynamics of the bike. Will probably replace the crank, cassette, chain, wheel sets and brakes when they wear down (as they are a bit on the heavy side). Impressive bike Kestrel Talon, received a lot of compliments already.
